Course Description
This program is designed to provide a Police Firearms Instructor with the knowledge, training, and skills necessary to develop an effective in-service training program for the AR-15 platform Urban Police Rifle. This MRI certification is complementary to our original Master Firearms Program and one of our 40hr courses (Police Strategy and Tactics) is an overlap between the MFI and MRI certifications. Just as the original MFI program goes well beyond basic firearms instructor training; this program is designed to meet the highly unique teaching and policy development requirements for training and deploying an AR-15 platform rifle in a modern police setting.
Apprenticeship
The Apprentice Program must follow successful completion of the three foundational courses. It is highly recommended that the Strategy and Tactics course and the Tactical Rifle course be taken prior to the instructor course. This enables students in the instructor course to concentrate on teaching methods rather than trying to develop new knowledge and skills as they learn to teach them.

Certification requirements for the Police Training Institute Master Rifle Instructor are:
- Patrol Rifle Instructor (5 day)
- Police Tactical Rifle (5 day)
- Police Strategy and Tactics (5 day)
