Course Description
The Police Tactical Rifle course was developed in response to the need for realistic, user oriented training in the employment of the patrol rifle in tactical scenarios. This course was designed as a follow-on class to the Police Tactical Firearms and Patrol Rifle Instructor courses and focuses on advancing the operator’s skill level with this weapon system. Officers completing this course will enhance their user confidence with the patrol rifle as well as challenge the limits of their shooting abilities.
This Course Meets the Following State Required Training Mandates:
- Civil Rights (0.5hrs)
- Constitutional Use of Law Enforcement Authority (0.5hrs)
- Legal Updates (1.0hr)
- Use of Force – De-Escalation Techniques (27.0hrs with 21.0hrs Scenario-based credit)
- Use of Force – Law Concerning Stops, Searches, and the Use of Force (3.0hrs with 1.5hrs Scenario-based credit)
- Use of Force – Officer Safety Techniques, including cover, concealment, and time (4.0hrs with 3.0hrs Scenario-based credit)

Training Charges
Commuter: $500
Officers are required to bring 1000 rounds of rifle ammunition and 150 rounds of pistol ammunition to this course. All ammunition must be copper jacketed and brass case. Absolutely no penetrator ammunition of any kind.
