Police Firearms Instructor
** Effective immediately – all officers attending specialized firearms course will be required to bring their own ammunition. The Police Firearms Instructor course requires 600 rounds of ammunition.**
Required Ammunition Types Pistol Ammunition: • Brass case only • Factory-manufactured / no reloads • Must be jacketed (brass). We prefer FMJ but will accept JHP. • Absolutely no penetrator ammunition and no metal other than brass in the jacket or case. • Students will not have their brass returned to them unless they bring their own container and collect the brass themselves.
Course Description
Today’s police firearms instructor is charged with a variety of responsibilities. Two of the most important are teaching and maintaining basic gun handling and marksmanship skills. Instructors will return to their agencies ready to manage these critical needs. Each student will learn various teaching methods that they can use to remediate basic and combat marksmanship skills. Students will leave with a plan for teaching these important police weapons.

Requirements
It is recommended that students attend the Police Tactical Firearms course prior to the Police Firearms Instructor course. Master Firearms Instructor certification requires completion of the following courses: Police Tactical Firearms, Police Strategy and Tactics, Police Firearms Instructor, and three day Master Firearms Instructor Apprentice Program.
